The Tour of Missouri September 14, 2007

Wednesday was incredibly exciting around Pastiche. The Tour of Missouri came by the store and we were amazed at how many people showed up for this event. We set out some snacks and water and have live coverage of the race playing so people could check on the status of the race.

A lot of people came by and the whole thing kind of turned into a block party with all our friends and neighbors. The excitment really peaked when the riders came into Springfield and were heading to Jefferson Street.

The race was fantastic. Carla even got a close up look at George Hincapie in action!

The race continued on, even after the break aways had made their loops.

All in all it was a very fun day and we all had a great time. These cyclist are all amazing! We’re hoping that the race comes by again next year! Here are a few more pictures taken by Todd closer to the finish line.

Tour of Missouri Today September 12, 2007

We’re geared up and ready for the race today! Things are really happening around here and the city is getting the streets ready for the race. We’ll be serving snacks this afternoon, plus featuring all our great new stuff from Resource Revival.

Resource Revival makes new things from old bicycle parts. This stuff is really amazing and helps keep things out of landfills. Check them out at Resource Revival

This picture was from last night’s community bike ride that covered the race route. It’s really great that the city is promoting the race so well and making it a community event. We fully encourage biking not only as a means of transportation but also as fun and recreation that promotes health and wellness.

New Stuff from Resource Revival September 7, 2007

We’re really into the bike thing. We’ve added a new line of products from Resource Revival, a company that makes new products from old bicycle parts. What have we got?

We got awesome bike chain bracelets in two sizes so they’re great for men or women. We’ve got nifty bottle openers, card holders, and clocks.

First Friday Art Walk – This Friday September 5, 2007

It’s time once again for Frist Friday Artwalk in downtown Springfield. This time around, in anticipation of the upcoming Tour of Missouri, we’ll have cyclist competing in our “live window display.” Ok, hold on. How are we going to have bike races in our window?

Don’t ask me, I just work here. Anyway, we’ve got real live cyclist who will be competing in our window.

As an added incintive to come downtown this Friday is Carla’s show at Studio 405.

The show is “4 Women, 2 Nights and 1 Helluva Show” featuring artwork by Becca Rutledge, Brenda Smola, Jo Van Arkle, and our own, Carla Stine. This is something you won’t want to miss! Be sure to stop by Pastiche and Studio 405 this Friday!
