Now’s the perfect time to think about candles. As the days get shorter and colder, candles are perfect for adding a little brightness and warmth to your home. We’ve added a new line of organic soy candles, Beautea. These candles are made with 100% organic pure essential oils. The scents are all tea based, with other essences to provide an exquisite aroma.
We have three different candles to choose from. The candles come in a container made of recycled materials and are printed with vegetable-based inks.
Pastiche cares about our community and environment. That’s why Carla pledged to Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce’s Partnership for Sustainability. By signing this pledge, we’re making an even stronger commitment to evaluating our business operations to make sure that we’re doing everything possible to create and cleaner and greener Springfield.
Carla always looks for companies and manufacturers that share her vision of a better world and tries to support those companies by bringing their products to Pastiche. Every so often there is a company with some antiquated ideas on shipping. We always dislike getting shipments packed with styrofoam peanuts.
Fortunately there are companies, like UPS, that recycle styrofoam packaging. The peanuts can be used again and again, which makes a lot of sense. It keeps them out of the landfills and saves companies money on shipping. It also eliminates the need to manufacturer more of those nasty little things.
We encourage other businesses to look at the Pledge for Sustainability at the Chamber and to think about what we can do to improve our community. You can find more information at Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce.
We’ve added some new pillows to our already exciting line of pillows at Pastiche. As Carla states,
“They are super soft and fuzzy and the colors are to die for. They’re made in Nepal with cotton and brushed wool. And there are those new little pillows, which were made locally by, um, I’ll have to look it up. And then there are the ones woven out of silk scraps (we should be getting the pillow inserts for those in the next few days). Yay! One more reason to stay in bed!”

From the company that makes the fuzzy, snuggly pillows, we also have blankets and wraps. These wraps are available in a wide selection of colors and are sure to keep you warm in the upcoming months of winter.
In case you haven’t been by Pastiche lately, our wonderful chair sculpture is no more. We did have a great name for the sculpture, “Beautiful Catastrophe” which was supplied Erica. Thanks Erica! We love the name.
But things change and now the season has inspired us to create a frightfully fun window display.
We’re in the Halloween spirit and have lots of fun things for the season. You really need to stop in and get the spook going with some of our awesomely fun things. Here’s a sample of what we have.

If you didn’t go to this past First Friday Art Walk, you missed all the fun and excitement at Pastiche. We featured the group, Stellars Jay. They were fantastic and a lot of fun to listen to.
There were the usual crowds of art loving fiends out and about and we had a great evening.
If you missed hearing Stellars Jay performing, we’re sorry. Maybe we should bring them back for a repeat performance sometime soon?
