I guess we should mention that our fearless and much beloved leader, Carla Stine, will be having a show opening this Friday at The Mudhouse on South Street.  

This show will feature Carla’s latest work which will sure to be a treat beyond measure.  Carla does collage work and her artistic talent knows no bounds.  For those of you who have seen her previous work, you know what we’re talking about.  If you’ve never experienced one of Carla’s shows, then it will be a truly special occasion.  

So stop by The Mudhouse on Friday’s Art Walk, have a latte and enjoy the show!

We’ve Got The Solutions! December 2, 2008

Yes, we at Pastiche have the secret on how to be popular.  We’ll even tell you.  It’s coming to Pastiche this Friday for First Friday Art Walk!  Once again we’re doing an ongoing seminar/demonstration/class on decorating with color.  

This isn’t something you have to show up for at a specific time.  Just stop in anytime this Friday between 6 and 10 and our brilliant staff of incredibly talented designers will guide you through the steps of using color in your spaces.

Decorating With Color November 7, 2008

Have you ever been confused on how to use color in your living spaces?  What colors work together, which clash, how do you make a small room feel larger, or how do you add a bit of something to set a decor off?

On November 7, during Art Walk in downtown Springfield, we will be holding a Color Workshop at Pastiche.  This is an ongoing workshop throughout the evening so there’s no time you have to be there.  Carla will be on hand to explain the use of color and how to make the most out of your spaces.

Besides the workshop, there will be the usual fun and games we always do for Art Walk plus it will be a great evening to enjoy the hottest galleries around downtown.

Be sure to stop by Pastiche this Friday, between 6 and 10 and learn a bit about color!

Friday’s Art Walk October 6, 2008

If you didn’t go to this past First Friday Art Walk, you missed all the fun and excitement at Pastiche.  We featured the group, Stellars Jay.  They were fantastic and a lot of fun to listen to.

There were the usual crowds of art loving fiends out and about and we had a great evening.  

If you missed hearing Stellars Jay performing, we’re sorry.  Maybe we should bring them back for a repeat performance sometime soon?

1st Friday Artwalk Trivia Answer! September 6, 2008

For those of you who stopped by Pastiche tonight and entered the trivia contest, here’s the answer.

The question was:  What does Pastiche mean?

The answer:  Pastiche, OED, is a medley of various ingredients.  Pastiche is the French version of the Greco-Roman dish passticcio, which meant a pie made of many different ingredients.

Ok, so now you know that Pastiche is just a big pie!  That’s so cool and makes me really hungry for some reason.

1 Year Birthday Party January 3, 2008

“Now that the holidays are over, we’re concentrating on our next big part which is this Friday, January 4.  It’s Pastiche’s 1 Year Anniversary Party!  That’s right.  We’ve been here for an entire year.  To celebrate, we’ve got a lot of fun things happening.  Coinciding with Frist Friday Art Walk, we’ll be featuring Damsels in Distress, the musical group that is completely, awesomely cool.  We’ll also feature Polaroids with the Bison.  For that, you just have to come in an check out.  We’ll also be doing lots of fun and games, including chances to win fabulous Pastiche prizes. Be sure to come by, this Friday during 6-10pm and help us celebrate Pastiche’s 1 Year Anniversary!! 

First Friday Art Walk – This Friday September 5, 2007

It’s time once again for Frist Friday Artwalk in downtown Springfield. This time around, in anticipation of the upcoming Tour of Missouri, we’ll have cyclist competing in our “live window display.” Ok, hold on. How are we going to have bike races in our window?

Don’t ask me, I just work here. Anyway, we’ve got real live cyclist who will be competing in our window.

As an added incintive to come downtown this Friday is Carla’s show at Studio 405.

The show is “4 Women, 2 Nights and 1 Helluva Show” featuring artwork by Becca Rutledge, Brenda Smola, Jo Van Arkle, and our own, Carla Stine. This is something you won’t want to miss! Be sure to stop by Pastiche and Studio 405 this Friday!

Summer is Ending August 7, 2007

Even though we had a great Artwalk, there was a little bittersweet with the fun. This summer, Pastiche had two fantastic interns helping. Thursday was their last day as Brittany graduated from MSU on Friday and Natalie left to enjoy a little summer vacation before returning to KU. We’ll miss them both a great deal but wish them well on whatever life brings them next.

FIRST FRIDAY ARTWALK ENTERTAINMENT July 31, 2007

Pastiche is pleased to host Damsels in Distress at this Friday’s Artwalk.  The Damsels will be performing on and off from 6-10.  Check them out on their myspace page.

Also, due to the overwhelming response we received on our Headless Duck Contest we did at June’s Artwalk, we’ll be having a new contest with chances to win fabulous prizes.  What’s the contest?  You’ll just have to come in during Artwalk to find out!
